Hartsburg-Emden Jr/Sr High School partners with Heartland Community College to offer Dual Credit courses and life skills workshops for high school students.
What is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit – An instructional arrangement where an academically qualified student currently enrolled in high school enrolls in a college-level course and, upon successful course completion, concurrently earns both college credit and high school credit. Dual credit indicates that curriculum has been aligned to achieve a competent, college-level outcome worthy of college credit and transferability while also satisfying high school graduation requirements through advanced, college level study. |
CollegeNow Workshops:
Heartland has created this initiative to offer free Guided Path to Success (GPS) workshops or our Student Success course (GENS 105) in order to help students plan and prepare for college, career, and life success. Free college elective credit can be earned while developing the skills to succeed in college coursework and plan a college and career path. GENS 105 is a 3 credit hour course, while credit for the GPS workshops is optional and obtained by completing post-workshop portfolio assignment |
